Centro Santa Marta has set an annual provision goal of 2,190 bed-nights for LGBTIQ+ youth and human rights defenders in crisis.
This target reflects an average shelter capacity of six bed-nights per day. Each bed-night represents more than a place to sleep. It includes shelter, meals, hygiene support, psychosocial accompaniment, and a pathway toward safety and stability.
The estimated cost per bed-night is $27.40. The estimated cost per day of shelter capacity, based on six bed-nights per day, is $164.38.
The goal helps Centro Santa Marta communicate its work with greater clarity: protection is not abstract. It requires daily resources, trained staff, coordination, and a safe house that can remain open.
