Santa Marta Welcomes Alejandro Bonilla as New Officer for Resource Development
In this role, Alejandro will support the strengthening of Santa Marta’s fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and resource mobilization strategies, helping expand the Center’s capacity to sustain and grow its work with LGBTIQ+ youth in El Salvador.

We protect
We provide safe shelter, food, hygiene, transportation support, and immediate care for LGBTIQ+ youth and human rights defenders in crisis.
Step 2
We stabilize
We offer psychosocial support, risk assessment, emotional stabilization, and life-planning tools so each person can regain safety, clarity, and direction.
Step 2
We sustain
We build long-term protection through job pathways, advocacy, secure funding channels, cybersecurity training, and regional solidarity networks.

The Santa Marta Center is Comprehensive support and emergency shelter program for queer youth in El Salvador facing homelessness, forced displacement and violence

To welcome and provide immediate, comprehensive, and warm care to LGBTIQ+ young adults facing violence, homelessness and deportation.

To be a center of attention, community, inclusion, and prosperity that promotes the rights for LGBTIQ+ youth, and to contribute to ending the cycle of violence and the social construction of hatred against sexual diversity.
